ROCK SURE, shuffled back soon after the start, went to the outside for racing room, closed full of run after reaching the stretch and wore the leaders down inside the final eighth. ALWAYS BLUE, hemmed in on the rail while in the first flight early, was taken back to come to the outside, responded nicely to punishment and fought it out stubbornly in the final drive. KID GLOVE had good speed while setting the pace, continued willingly and outstayed LAFITOFF. The latter raced in the thick of contention, gained command with a rush when reaching the stretch, but weakened suddenly in the closing drive. ADELE FULLER went well placed and had no excuses. MISS LULU began quickly, raced smoothly until reaching the home stretch, bore out under punishment and just lasted to withstand CALGARY GIRL. The latter raced in closest attendance of the winner, went to * the inside when the winner bore out and finished determinedly. WAR HASTE, squeezed back going to the turn, secured racing room thereafter and finished strongly. EILEEN O. was inclined to bear out on the turn and was weakly handled. CHARLES J., going in his best form and close up with the leaders in the early running, challenged strongly when reaching the stretch, wore the pacemakers down gradually and under strong urging outstayed RANCHERO. The latter weaved his way into contention between horses, responded willingly and finished wearing the winner down steadily. MAETICO went forwardly and continued with good energy in the final issue. SHERRY BOY was used up racing BLACK JEWEL into submission and he tired during the stretch run. BLACK JEWEL besan tiring after a half mile. SABANA went evenly. MUCKLE DO closed stoutly from a slow beginning. MAEMERE broke slugeishlv and lacked speed. MERRY BUD broke flatfooted. ROSEPATH, taken under stout restraint when SHOELESS JOE was sent into command, followed close to the pacemaker until reaching the home stretch, gained command and came out slightly nearing the finish. cHOELESS JOE was rushed hard to take the lead, was steadied in front and continued gamely when put to a drive. MYNAH improved her position steadily and came determinedly in the closing drive. FAIR MOLE closed stoutly after saving ground at the stretch turn. BUSHMAN showed a dull effort. MISS GORMLEY, steadied within striking distance of the pacemaker after avoiding a bad jam at th« first turn, moved up strongly to engage the pacemaker when reaching the stretch, was taken up slightly when KHAKI JOHN swerved, but came strongly and was up in the last sixteenth. KHAKI JOHN began quickly, was rated while setting the pace, swerved when put to punishment and could not stall off the winner. CUDGELDOE, in trouble at the first turn, went to the outside to reach contention, then closed gamely. DOER was bumped and squeezed back leaving the back stretch. He finished willingly when clear. FRIGID FROSTY showed a good effort. KINGS BOUNTY was carried wide at the first turn. EILEEN D. tired, as did BABE GAIETY.
