ENGLISH KING AND QUEEN EN ROUTE TO AMERICA PORTSMOUTH, Eng., May 6.— Given a rousing send-off by thousands who regarded their departure as an augury of peace, King George and Queen Elizabeth sailed for Canada and the United States aboard the Canadian Pacific liner, Empress of Australia, today. The twenty-five-year-old vessel, once the Tirpitz of the German merchant marine, slid away from Portsmouth as huge crowds bade their majesties farewell. Twenty-three persons comprised the royal entourage, for whose benefit the Empress of Australia was converted into a royal yacht.
