GILDED KNIGHTS FAST TRIAL JAMAICA, N. Y., May 6.— Wheatley Stables Gilded Knight and Saratoga Stables Volitant are being kept on edge nicely for their engagements in the Preakness at Pimlico next Saturday. Both candidates are training at Aqueduct, and Saturday morning Gilded Knight was sent along for a handy seven furlongs in 1:24%. This fellow has already proved his quality when he was winner of the Chesapeake Stakes over Impound, Challedon and other good ones. Volitant, while he failed in the Chesapeake, came back to finish second to Johnstown in the Wood Memorial, and he is steadily improving. The son of Display— Flighty Anna worked a mile as his Saturday test and he simply breezed in 1:41%, showing an entire readiness for .the -silks.- * *
