ASCOT PARK TO OPEN TODAY AFTER THREEYEAR LAPSE LAPSEMeeting Meeting of Thirteen Days Will Be Staged at Track Near Akron AkronAKRON AKRON Ohio June 6 After a lapse of three years thoroughbred racing will be resumed here tomorrow with the opening of the Ascot Park Jockey Clubs summer meet ¬ ing of thirteen days The racing will be staged at Ascot Park formerly known as Northampton Park a sixfurlong oval built and opened in 1923 1923From From present indications the initial days card will be contested over a good track which was recovering rapidly under a bright sun following much rain here during the first four days of this week weekA A card of eight evenly balanced races have been prepared fjor tomorrow featured by the Inaugural Purse an allowance event at six and a half furlongs A field of seven will face starter Wm Daly in this event and any of the members appear formidable Many of them were consistent winners at Beulah Park but the popular Queen Clarice is likely to be most fancied fanciedSunset Sunset racing will be introduced here for the first time on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays The post time for the first race will be 415 p m daily but on the other days of the meeting the first race will be 215 p m mAll All races will be limited to eight starters and will be dispatched from the Kenny Elec ¬ tric starting stall gate which proved so successful at the recent Beulah Park meet ¬ ing The Cooke camera will be used to de ¬ termine the close finishes finishesA A Daily Double on the first two races will be offered and all horses must be named individually in the event of a coupled entry in either event eventAlthough Although there are 375 horses already on the grounds the stabling accommodations are not yet filled there being ove 600 stalls available There were sixteen jockeys regis ¬ tered with the clerk of scales Tom Moran today many of whom rode at Beulah Park
