SLAPPY RAISED ON BOTTLE WHEN MARE DIES FOALING FOALINGINGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD Calif June 6 Slappy threeyearold gelding which was claimed by the stable of F C Marmot after winning the second race for E and W Janss at Holly ¬ wood Park on Saturday was raised on a bottle it was revealed by Ed Janss Jr JrWhen When Slappy was foaled his mother Moon Song daughter of Royal Minstrel died said Janss So we fed him on a bottle bottleWe We gave him goats milk cows milk and even lions milk that we got at that Lion Farm up the road a piece He was a big foal but he seemed to thrive on his special diet Later we got an old farm horse that was practically a wet nurse to the colt and he did all right rightThat That he did all right is a statement that can be accepted at its face value Slappy in nine starts this year won four and was second on two other occasions running in the Janss Brothers colors three of his vic ¬ tories were at the Santa Anita meeting the fourth at Hollywood Park on his last start
