George Palmer Will Dispatch Fields at Garden State Park CAMDEN, N. J., June 29. George Palmer, starter at Santa Anita and Delaware Park, has been engaged to send away the fields at the Garden State Park meeting opening here on July 18, general manager Walter H. Donovan announced here today. Palmer, at present starting at Delaware Park, has been busy for some weeks interesting Maryland and Delaware horsemen in the Garden State Park stakes, which close at midnight Wednesday. A native of Havre de Grace, Md., Palmer has a long record of service as a racing official. He first took. his place in the starters stand in 1921, and two years later graduated into a full summer circuit on the Ontario Independent loop. Palmer will come to Camden after the close of the Delaware Park meeting on July 4. He will use the new, improved 14-stall Bahr Gate, which will be shipped in to Garden State Park within a few days.
