Florida Notes TROPICAL PARK, Coral Gables, Fla., April 5. Recent thoroughbred casualties at Tropical Park include Peace Eagle and Argo Rouge. The first named bowed a tendon in his mid-week outing, while the other is suffering from a badly bruised foot. Joe Wagner will leave for Louisville following the Tropical Park finale to join the western division of Grant Thorns stable. This string, numbering a dozen head, will be trained by Slim Winfrey. Santa Marie, who won her maiden victory at 59 to 1 on Friday, was purchased a short time back by J. Urrutia for the trifling sum of 00. Incidentally, her sire, Tedious, now is racing at Tropical Park. He was returned to competition by Alfred Vanderbilt after failing in the stud. The son of Teddy now is a ten-year-old. Trainer R. E. Wingfield will ship the Circle M Ranch horses to Louisville. An eastern campaign will be mapped following the close of the Kentucky season. Ray Metcalf loaded a draft of his own and J. H. Carr horses for shipment to New England. A mixed carload comprising the holdings of Gene Lutz, W. B. Mitchell and A. Crouch left for Jamaica. Harry Baker will ship the horses he has here to Pimlico for that meeting.
