Sun Again Assigned 130 Pounds For Stars and Stripes Renewal Equipoise Mile Victor Held Six Pounds Over Slide Rule For 0,000 Holiday Stake IIOMEWOOD, 111., June 27. Calumet Farms Sun Again, hero last Saturday of the Equipoise Mile and before that winner of the Dixie, Southern Maryland, McLennan and Gittings handicaps this year, has been assigned top weight of 130 pounds, four over the scale, for the 0,000 Stars and Stripes Handicap, outstanding feature of charity week of racing at Washington Park next Tuesday. Under that steadying impost, the Calumet five-year-old will concede from six to 40 pounds to the 25 other horses nominated for the rich run of a mile and a furlong. Rated closest to Sun Again under the weights announced by racing secretary Webb Everett is William E. Boeings Slide Rule, winner of the Arlington Classic last season, under 124 pounds. Following Slide Rule comes a decided drop to 115, the allotment given William Helis Rounders, who carried off major honors in last years renewal of the Stars and Stripes. Fifth in Equipoise Mile Rounders showed early speed in the Equipoise Mile but tired out of it and finally finished fifth ahead of his stablemate, Salto, who has been pegged at 100 pounds for the Independence Day fixture. Calumets three-year-old, Pensive, winner of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, follows with the scale weight of 114, and held at one pound less are Georgie Drum and With Regards. The Drumheller campaigner was somewhat of a sensation at Washington Park last season and indicated in the Equipoise Mile, in which he ran second behind Sun Again, that he will have to be reckoned with from now on. With Regards, runner-up to Slide Rule in last years Classic, has been working well of late, Pinky Grimes apparently having him in top trim. John Marsch s Valdina Foe, winner of the Lincoln and La Salle handicaps during the recent Lincoln Fields meeting at Hawthorne, gets in under 110, one pound more than is required of Calumets Mar-Kell and George J. Stempels Put In. From the 109 pounds assessed the latter two, the weights scale down to 90 pounds, the assignment of the three-year-old, My Night. W. C.
