I | 1 , j i I 1 Favor Legalized Bookmakinq SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 2.— Under a measure legalizing bookmaking in Cal-. ifornia, which was placed before the as-, sembly yesterday with recommendation for its passage by its public morals committee, bookmakers would be licensed by the State Horse Racing Board and would be limited to one for each 20,000 population. License fees would be ,000 and a 0,000 bond would be required. However, the racing board cannot license the bookmakers until a proposed constitutional amendment, now awaiting final legislative approval, is rati-1 fied by voters at the 1946 general election.
