HUSH sprinted into command at once, was steadied on the turn, opened up impressively in the early stretch and lasted under punishment. OUTLET rallied well under pressure to be going best at the end. POOCHANELLI was a prominent factor from the start and fought it out gamely. GICA raced on the inside on the turn, was in close quarters briefly and failed to rally. SIXTEEN CENTS displaced HERCULES in the opening furlong, drew clear to a commanding lead on the turn, then held sway without being placed to pressure. HIGH SIR raced wide while moving into contention and closed with good courage. MOROCCO SIR. well placed and under restraint early, failed to rally in the closing test. HERCULES, off well but unable to stay with SIXTEEN CENTS, dropped back gradually. The others showed nothing. Claimed — Hercules by Mrs. S. M. Pistorio. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. DOLLY VARDEN was sluggish early, raced wide while improving her position and was best of the others. PILATES FUN opened a lengthy lead on the turn, but faltered badly when the real test came. BOSTON CAP was not a serious threat. ROLL SHOT forced the pare for a half mile. OHTAIN trailed after a quarter mile. STATESMAN was restrained within striking distance of the pace, rallied well to take command at the furlong pole, then outgamed BRIDES BISCUIT. The latter forged to the front in the first few strides, was perfectly rated and fought it out gamely. AETHELRED was under restraint for more than five furlongs, loomed dangerously nearing the stretch, only to flatten out badly under pressure thereafter. LIMEHOlSE caught a tired horse. BLACK GANG, off well but not sent into pursuit of the leader early, saved ground to the stretch, went around PONY BALLET in midstretch, then outgamed JIMMIE under excellent handling. The latter, taken off the pace early, moved well when asked for best and just missed. SOPHOCLES was rated early, swung wide turning for home and closed some ground. PONY BALLET cut out the early running, but quit badly when displaced. NOONDAY SUN showed a fair effort, but could not seriouslv threaten. HORNBEAM was fractious at the gate and showed nothing. BULL WHIP raced well placed on the outside from the start, collared GAY BRIGADIER soon after entering the stretch and won under strong handling. GAY BRIGADIER assumed command on the turn, fought it out willingly, but could not outgame the winner. GINGER MAN was hard ridden from the outset, but tired in the late stages. FIRST FAMILY dropped out of it eradually after racing close to the pace along the backstretch. COUNSELLOR closed some ground. TRACE ME failed to improve his position.
