La Salle Attracts Eleven Nominees Night Shadow Expected to Head Field for Saturdays Renewal of Lincoln Event STICKNEY. 111., June 11.— Eleven horses, three-year-olds and older, are eligible for the ,000 added La Salle Handicap which will be renewed by the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club at Hawthorne on Saturday, was announced this morning by racing secretary W. R. Dahlstrom. The La Salle is one of two features on Saturdays card, the ether being the ,500 Woodlawn Hand-leap in which three-year-olds and older horses will be brought together over six and one-half furlongs. Among those named for the La Salle Mrs. Robert McGarveys Night Shadow, the stretch -running daughter of Man ONight. Winner already of one race this meeting and runner-up in another. Night Shadow captured the Beverly Purse in her first start at Hawthorne and last week was sec-end to Final Glory in the Elmhurst Purse, Both of these events were contested over six and one-half furlongs and the manner in which she made up ground in each them suggests she will be just as effective ever the mile and three-sixteenths of Saturdays test. To Be Pointed for Later Stakes Like Harriet Sue, who last Saturday won tbc Steger Handicap, Night Shadow drawing her sights on the several rich stakes for fillies and mares which will renewed on the Chicago front later in the summer. Night Shadow probably will go to the post this week-end as part of an entry with Icangetit. who is owned by Leon Tikulski. In his latest public performance the three-year-old Stagehand colt was third to Har-riet Sue and Espino Gold in the Steger, Handicap. Earlier in the meeting he won the LaGrange Handicap. Another interesting nominee for the Salle is Mrs. Clyde Troutts Take Wings, veteran Chicago favorite. Take Wings was a disappointment last week in the Elm- hurst Purse, in which he went unplaced,: but he should improve off that effort and may be a sharp contender for honors this week-end. When he hits his best stride should be holding his own with some of best handicap performers on the Chicago circuit. Seme of the others listed among the eli-gibles for the La Salle are the Swanee River Stables Corydon, the Happy Hour Farms Devalue, the Brolite Farms Challenge Me and Hyman Friedbergs Bolos Choice. Entries for the Woodlawn Handicap close on Thursday. Nominations for the La Salle Handicap follow : Horse. Horse.
