Agrarian-U Makes Good When Held at Odds-On Draws Off From Take Away at Head of Stretch in Sprint NARRAGANSETT PARK, Pawtucket, R. I., May 22.— The victory of J. L. McKnights Agrarian-U four-year-old Agrarian gelding in the ,500 Central Falls Purse here this afternoon was a thrilling and satisfactory result of this six-furlong sprint for the majority of 18,000 fans on hand, for they had backed him down to 2-to-5, the lowest price of the meeting. The thrill came in the ease with which Agrarian-U pulled away from E. A. Simpsons Take Away from the head of the stretch, home. The favorite was a length and a half in front of Take Away at the finish, hitting the wire in 1:13% over a slow track. He paid .80. Third went to Marvin Levels Free Transit, who was closest in pursuit of the favorite through the early stages, but yielded to Take Away coming out of the turn and was three-quarters of a length behind him at the finish. Max Wexlers Dispose won his third straight of the meeting when he accounted for the fifth race, a high-priced claiming race at six furlongs. Held at odds of 13 to 10, the eight-year-old son of Discovery — Swiftply took over command after a quarter mile and went on to prevail by three lengths. Mar DEsprit was second, a length before Happy Prince. Dispose ran three-quarters over a heavy strip in 1:14.
