KHAMSEENS BOY began to improve his position after reaching the turn, raced into the lead with a rush in the stretch and was under light pressure to the end. IN SILVER opened up a good lead while in hand, could not withstand the winners challenge, yet held on fairly well. AS BOLD was under strong urging in the final quarter. EPOLA weakened gradually in the last quarter. SONS HIGHLAND showed an even effort under hand riding. MARIE OLYMPIA began poorly. CAPTAIN FURY weakened badly. Won driving; third the same. LIKEABLE, unable to better his position until reaching the final quarter, made his bid gradually and got up to dead-heat with STE. FRANCES in the last stride. The latter under a good hold to the stretch, took command under energetic riding and held on stubbornly, but failed to hold LIKEABLE long enough to be the sole winner. BABES CALL, a strong factor from the beginning, raced wide and weakened, but outstayed ALAR. The latter had speed, but weakened when the real test came. MISS WINKS raced well from a slow beginning. LOYAL began sluggishly and was never a serious factor. CHANCE DAY weakened badly after showing speed to the stretch. MR. DANNY was blocked on the turn. Scratched— 98604 Guy Hottel, 109. JAN-ROD, away fast and having speed, took command quickly, was rated to the stretch and, tiring after a half, won under punishment. CHINA PRINCESS was a forward factor from the start and held on fairly well. COSSACK BOY dwelt at the start, was under strong urging throughout and showed a good effort. HAPPY DOE raced greenly. VALDINA DATE, taken back repeatedly until reaching the last five-sixteenths, responded with much energy when called upon, was punished lightly in the last sixteenth, but, in hand thereafter, won with something left. ROYALONG displayed speed from the start, could not hold the winner, yet held on gamely. CHERRIKO moved up steadily after reaching the stretch and was racing resolutely at the end. RUSH ACT, away slowly, remained on the inside to the stretch, where he closed evenly between horses. HOP PICKER failed to keep up in the last quarter. SONS STYLE, well rated, weakened after reaching the final eighth. VALDINA SEER showed a flash of early speed. LATENT lost ground. Scratched— 85070 Golden Cross, 105; 98173 Red Canter, 108. KAMPS REWARD, away slowly, started up on the stretch turn between horses, closed fast through the last three-sixteenths and was holding his advantage over SANDSLINGER at the end. The latter, away slowly, moved forward steadily after three-eighths and, heading SOME BID, hung nearing the finish SOME BID, having speed from the beginning and well rated, came out in the stretch and weakened slightly under good pressure in the last furlong. FAYERBANKE closed full of run. ARIELITA had speed, was forced wide by SOME BID and also weakened in the last furlong. GAL ANN moved up on the stretch turn, but gave way slowly thereafter. SERGEANT BILL, well in hand to the stretch, sprinted into a wide lead with a rush and, continuing well, probably had something left. VINITA MAJOR offered strong contention from the start and held on well. CREDENTIALS had speed, gave way suddenly nearing the last eighth, but came again. THREE CLOVERS was under light urging after reaching the last quarter and closed yell. PINK DEVIL was eased when leaving the backstretch and came stoutly through the last quarter. CINESAR bore in through the stretch where his rider could not do him justice. HOGAN almost fell leaving the starting gate. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. POMPS GAL. raced wide and under steady hold to the stretch, did not respond when called upon. CID PLAY, also in hand to the last quarter, did ont rally and stumbled slightly when weakening badly. LORD CAPRICE had no mishap. ARIEL GUNNER met light early interference. PORT MARS began well and displayed good speed to the last three-eighths, where he faltered badly. WOODSMAN broke out slightly at the start, was allowed to move up gradually while under a strong hold the first seven furlongs, came out for the stretch run, engaged TASK FORCE in an extended duel and weakened after getting to the front, but lasted. TASK FORCE, well handled, forced the early pace in hand, took command without need of strong urging, but lost command while holding on well, yet was stronger than the winner at the end. STAND EASY, impeded at the start and badly outrun for seven furlongs, moved up in the middle of the track, but weakened in the late stages. HIGH ROLLER moved up on the stretch turn and swerved badly thereafter. THAT-A-LADY was held safe. HO-HO was outrun. PERSIFLAGE broke into WOODSMAN at the start.
