JELLICO propped at the start, was allowed to settle into best stride, gradually worked way up on the outside to gain contention nearing the quarter pole, then finished with a rush to be drawing clear at the end. CO-LAWYER, under a tight hold for six furlongs, moved into command when ready, but was unable to withstand the winner. CABBIE BOY was hustled from the beginning to assume command going to the first turn and saved ground to the half-mile pole, then came out in the better going, only to weaken slightly under pressure. GROUSER broke alertly, moved up fast to challenge RUM RUNNER entering the stretch, was carried wide by the leader, assumed command leaving the furlong pole, came over slightly to impede RUBE, then had enough left to hold HASHER safe. The latter, unable to reach the leaders in the first half mile, saved ground on the turn while moving up, came between horses when straightened out and closed with good energy. ROLL TWO closed with a rush through the final sixteenth. SUN BEAU GO was slow to get going. RUM RUNNER drew clear in the first quarter, then kept bearing out on the turn, bothering the winner. RUBE was forwardly placed when impeded by the winner and had no chance thereafter. SILVER SWEEP broke slowly, was sent up fast on the inside, assumed command when the leaders went wide entering the stretch, then flattened out. TREE LAND trailed. Scratched— 99735 Chaithan, 118. EASY QUERO showed good speed from the beginning to open a commanding lead, saved ground and held his advantage to the end under a smart hand ride. SANGONE was favorably placed on the outside, rallied mildly nearing the furlong pole, then held on gamely. LISTING, in closest attendance of the leader tor a half mile, saved ground on the turn, but was unable to improve position under intermittent pressure. WAKE ROBIN was closer to the pace than usual and was under a drive in the final quarter PILATES ECHO was never a serious contender. TYRONE trailed. WISE SUE, kept within striking distance while out in the better footing responded to pressure when straightened in the stretch and drew out at the end. CLOUDY WEATHER was between horses from the start, alternated with BAD COLD in setting the pace, then failed to rally to intermittent pressure in the final sixteenth. WHITEFORD LUCK saved ground entering the stretch, moved abreast the leaders nearing the sixteenth post, then hung. BOLD COLD tired in the final sixteenth under stout handling. ELLIS, sent to the front at once, was taken under tight restraint while setting the pace, moved out in the better going through the stretch and won Vith speed in reserve. TAKE AWAY was sent up fast on the outside after a half mile, rallied mildly through the stretch, but was unable to reach the winner. BUSYRIDGE moved up on the far turn, then faltered in the final furlong. HYHUSTLE was outrun. SON ADMIRAL raced forwardly placed for a quarter, then tired. DARBY DIADEM galloped behind the field under a tight hold after a slow beginning, the rider continuing out a mile without extending his horse. ADONIS, a forward factor while under light restraint for six furlongs, responded to stout handling to move up with a determined challenge leaving the sixteenth pole and forged to the front in the final stride. HAMMER-LOCK assumed command in the first quarter, was taken under light restraint while setting the pace, saved ground entering the stretch and held on gamely under intermittent pressure, only to falter in the last seventy yards. HILL SUN improved his position under strong urging, but was unable to menace. CHUCK slipped through leaving the backstretch, but failed to rally under steady urging in the late stages. BROKE EVEN tired after forcing the early pace and acted as though he didnt like the going. INCOMING failed to rally when put to a drive. WINSOME LAD failed to extend himself. COLINOVA, under a tight hold for six furlongs, was sent up on the inside when ready, continued on the inside until straightened away for the drive, then came out off the rail to charge through the stretch with a rush and just got up. CHANCE PLAYER was sent to the front in the first quarter, was taken under stout restraint while enjoying a clear lead, was shaken up enering the stretch and held on gamely. LANDN SEA was favorably placed, moved up after six furlongs, then raced evenly in the final stages. KENDOR dwelt at the start, was not hustled while settling into stride and closed a big gap while saving ground. SHIPS CAPTAIN was through after a half. JINGLE JANGLE was eased when beaten. MARKOBOB. in hand for five furlongs, moved up on the outside of NEVERFRET to assume command, drew clear under light urging, then was hard ridden through the stretch to hold WISE TIMMIE safe. The latter began moving into contention nearing the stretch and rallied mUdly, but was unable to reach the winner. NEVERFRET tired after seven furlongs. GRAY SYNGO saved ground and had no mishap. WHITE HOPE raced evenly. SIBSIS was forced forwardly placed early, but was unable to improve under steady urging. BARNACLE lost all chance at the start when he failed to break with the field. Overweight— Gray Snygo, 1 pound; White Hope, 4; Sibsis, 4. Sibsis claimed by L. Phillips. Attendance, 17,052; Total Mutuel Pool, ,216,137. Returned to Public, ,082,362, Less Breakage.
