Langley Appointed Presiding Judge for Mqywood Meetirfg MeetirfgPeter Peter Langley of Elkhorn Wis who has directed harness racing events at the Wis ¬ consin State Fair in Milwaukee for the past two years has been named presiding judge at Maywood Park North Avenue and River Road which next Monday night opens its 1948 meeting general manager Sam Wied rick announced today todayLangley Langley 42 years old became associated with harness racing in 1938 advancing in assignments from timer cleric ofcourse and assistant judge judgeWiedrick Wiedrick also announced that Norman Wilson of Detroit Mich will serve as chief starter of the highlypowered E M Smith gate during the 60night meeting meetingTom Tom Gahagan of Indianapolis Irid dean of Grand Circuit judges and M E Pat Bacon of Aurora HI will assist Langley as associate stewards Wilsons assistant in dispatching the horses will be Frank Pen nino of Cicero iilr R L Mosher has been reappointed di ¬ rector of Maywood Parts mutuel depart ¬ ment The halfmile plants other officials include William C Connors of Chicago who was named racing secretary several months ago and John Jenuine of Greenup TJ1 assistant race secretary secretaryConnors Connors and Jenuine also will serve as placing judges The timers will be Harlow A Armstrong Sr and Harlow A Arm ¬ strong Jr both of Maywood and H A Douglas of Peoria 111 Loyall German of Northville Mich will be chief paddock and patrol judge and he will be assisted by Luther Wiley of Chicago N
