Oak Brook Group Receives Initial Entries for Meet MeetThe The first entrants in the mens and womens races respectively of the inaug ¬ ural Oak Brook Steeplechase June 5 has been received by the race committee Both Chicagoans they are Miss Judy Waller of 1430 Lake Shore Drive and Robert P Sew ard of 52 East Cedar Street StreetMiss Miss Waller finds herself in an unhappy predicament because the horse she had been training Cassedon was lost in the recent fire on the farm of Stanley Luke of LaGrange She is making efforts however to find another horse to ride rideSeward Seward who at 24 will be one of the youngest riders in the meet will ride Jhis horse Nimrod a survivor of the same fire on the Luke farm Seward will compete in the Ginger Creek Hunter race one of the two threemile events scheduled He competed in steeplechases at Elkridge outside of Baltimore Md prior to moving to Chicago The Elkridge club was the first to stage a steeplechase in the United States StatesThe The two and onehalf hours afternoon program will feature six races with a rep ¬ resentative field of outof state contestants running for the Oak Brook Challenge Cup which will be presented for the first time The Oak Brook course is four miles northwest of Hinsdale at Cass Avenue I near TwentySecond Street
