Repair Damaged Barns Other Improvements Made at Ascot AscotASCOT ASCOT PARK Akron Ohio May 27 Following the current 19day session at Cranwood Park which ends June 2 racing for fans in the northeastern section of Ohio shifts to this threequarter mile plant The Ascot Park meeting with 19 days scheduled opens three days later on June 5 and continues through June 26 26Dan Dan E Cronin general manager of the Ascot Park Jockey Club arrived from his home in Beverly Hills California this week and began preparing the plant for the ap ¬ proaching meeting He announced that the j barns damaged by windstorms during the winter have been repaired and a new track kitchen added on the premises for the con ¬ venience of horsemen horsemenThe The racing strip has been open for train ¬ ing for the past week but activity during morning hours has been at a minimum be ¬ cause the bulk of the horses which are slated to participate at this meeting are currently appearing under silks at Cran ¬ wood Park only 20 miles away Ascot Park located eight miles north of Akron will have its stabling area filled to capacity by open ¬ ing day according to Cronin with addi ¬ tional horses from which to draw entries remaining at Thistle Downs and Randall Park
