Seek to Stop Downs Sale Two stockholders of the American Turf Association, Geoffrey J. ODonnell and Joseph A. Ortolan, both of New York City, Friday filed suit in Superior Court to restrain the proposed sale of Churchill Downs and its conversion into a non-profit organization. They also ask the court in their petition to rescind, and declared void the sale in 1947 of the Lincoln Fields track in Crete, 111., contending that the sale price, which they state as ,080,000, was grossly inadequate. The late Edward J. Fleming headed a syndicate that purchased Lincoln Fields from the ATA.
