Bad Weather Hits Crowd, Handle at Lincoln Downs LINCOLN DOWNS, Lincoln, R. I., May 1. — Due more to the inclement spring weather encountered than economic conditions, the handle and attendance figure at Lincoln Downs show an approximate decrease of between 11 and 12 per cent from last springs corresponding figures to date. The mutuel handle for 1950 is 5,002,917, for a daily average of 00,097, as against 7,144,645 and daily of 71,488 for 1949. Attendance to date has averaged 8,808 as against an average of 10,389 a year ago. The State of Rhode Islands share of the mutuel handle for 1950 is 53,510.82 as compared with 72,726.13 last year.
