BRIEF WHIRL, always in the first flight, wrested command entering the stretch and drew clear to win easily. FLAMARE set the pace, but was no match when challenged by the winner. BAROLO raced forwardly and on the inside from the start. SIGN EGRET retained her position in the running while tiring. ARDENT MISS lacked a menacing rally. REPAND, badly outrun early, was carried extremely wide and failed to reach contention. SHOWY quit, as did WYE CARE and LIGHT BUCKLE. DIZZY DAME, JR. failed to make up ground under pressure and again came back a bit lame. DUFF held a slight lead for a half mile and weakened. COMPOSER raced within striking distance, but failed to respond. MR. ELMER caught tired horses. BEAUTIFUL IN showed speed along the inside and quit ROY 0. was sluggish early and failed to reach contention. LADY LAVENDER broke badly. DUTEL raced forwardly on his own courage early, assumed command when roused midway of the turn and drew clear to win easily. HY set the pace for a half mile, continued on fairly well, but was not good enough. LANLAST showed a good effort, but lacked a closing rally. TELLANRUN could not seriously threaten. CEE VEE, far back early, was capable of a rally, but had to be taken up repeatedly while lugging in all through the stretch. SKY ROAMER was one of those bothered by .CEE VEE through the stretch, as was QUEEN MAY. THE ORPHAN turned in a dull race. FANCY ANSWER showed nothing. MARCH CHICK, slow to settle into stride, rallied under pressure, but could not get within striking distance of the top one. WOHNEDA, far back early, commenced her rally leaving the backstretch, moved into close quarters on the tum, then continued on willingly when again clear. RETINTIN, taken-up early, failed to rally effectively. TRUE DREAM threatened along the inside in the run down the backstretch, then flattened out. EAGLE SPEED quit TINK flattened out early.
