Gumbert G/Ven Release PITTSBURGH, Pa., May « UP. — Relief hurler Harry Gumbert was released unconditionally today by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 39-year-old right-hander, a veteran of 21 years in the major league, saw little action this spring. He was obtained by the Pirates last year on waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.
