Maryland Writers at Downs CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — Members of the Maryland Racing Writers Association, one of the largest organizations of its kind that covers Charles Town, W. Va., Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware, in addition to having members at various other points, including Kentucky, were conspicuous in the press box for the Kentucky Derby. Those wearing the gold horseshoe insignia of the Old Line State group were John Webster, Philadelphia Inquirer; Walter Haight, Washington Post; Bill Boniface, the Sun papers, Baltimore; Raleigh Burroughs, Turf and Sport Digest; John Chandler, Associated Press, and Teddy Cox, Daily Racing Form, and H. J. "Mickey" McGuire, head of the Lex-ton Bureau of the Daily Racinc Form.
