Demand Icebreakers Return WASHINGTON, D. C, May 9 UP. — The United States demanded today that Russia return by June 30 two ice breakers loaned to the Soviets under war-time lend lease. The State Department disclosed sim- ultaneously that it soon will make a new approach to Moscow for an overall settlement of the Soviet lend-lease account. The United States sent Russia 1,000,000,000 of lend-lease equipment during the war. But more than three years of intermittent negotiations have failed to produce even a report from Russia on how much of it survived the war.
