R. Wright; bred by Idle Hour Stock Farm Co. WENT TO POST— 5:06. OFF AT 5:06 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. SCOTCH BIM, in hand until reaching the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and wore down BILLCELLA in the last sixteenth. BILLCELLA, much used racing FLATBUSH into defeat, continued willingly through the stretch, but could not hold the winner. FRERE JACQUES, in tight quarters at the upper turn, raced well when clear, but was not good enough for the top ones. FLATBUSH raced with BILLCELLA until inside the stretch, then weakened. STEEPLE JACK was outrun. REIGHS COMET made a good bid rearing the, stretch, but failed to stay in the drive. FAVONIAN never was prominent. Scratched-00805 Sgt. Abe, 117. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. BROAD BACK, a keen factor from the start, assumed command when settled in the stretch and drew clear when ridden out. SCHOLAR TIME, saving ground throughout, finished -well under urging, but was not good enough for the winner. HALCYON BLUE, much used racing the leader into defeat, reached the front entering the stretch, then faltered. JUNE AYR, reserved to the stretch, moved into a good position when settled for the drive, but weakened while under brisk urging. SUNAWAY lacked early speed. NIGHT CRAWLER drifted out badly during the stretch run. FOXY PATE was outrun. MAJOR NICK could net keep up after showing early speed. PLAY SURE set the pace for a half mile, then gave way. CHOPPY SEA was through early.
