JACK THE GREAT, away alertly but outrun for the lead by TELENEWS, again wrested command from the inside turning into the stretch and drew clear to be an easy winner. TELENEWS set the pace, but was no match for the winner during the stretch run. MOON BOY retained his position in the running while tiring. LORDSHIP failed to reach contention under energetic handling. NARRATOR could not keep up. TROUT LURE broke tardily. DEFICIT tried to get out on the turn. SAGAGAL rapidly attained a commanding advantage, continued on surprisingly well and retained a long lead at the end. LADY JACOPO, taken under restraint early, closed willingly, but could not menace the top one. INSULTIN stumbled leaving the gate, was slow to settle into stride and closed willingly. SIR JACOMAR also stumbled at the start and made up ground. WITCH WAY tired. ONCE ONLY was through early, as was ENTREAT. MACROSS showed brief speed. MILITANT LADY, after several attempts to wrest command from DANDY FOOT, assumed the lead from the inside in the early stretch and withstood the late bid of GILLIE YOUNG. The latter improved his position steadily and was wearing down the top one. DANDY FOOT set the pace for more than a half mile, then faltered. SUMMERLIGHT came from far back to close well. SPEAKER held a forward position, but lacked a menacing rally. MISS PIDGEON flattened out after dueling for the early lead. WHIRL-A-BIT had brief speed.
