Agrarian-U Drives Home In Garden State Sprint Stalls Off Bids of Crystal Boot And Gobbler to Capture Oaklyn By OSCAR OTIS GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 12. — J. L. McKnights Agrarani-U ran one of the gamest races of his recent career to annex the featured Oaklyn Purse here this afternoon in a drive from R. N. Websters generously-priced Crystal Boot, and Hal Price Headleys Gobbler. Jockey Fernando Fernandez, who has been enjoying a winning streak here in recent days, was alert at the barrier in the six-furlong dash, and although outbroken, soon rushed him into a short lead. But he was almost immediately challenged by Jaclyn Stables Imperial Rock, the latter making his first outing since last September at Atlantic City, and the McKnight gelding was under pressure all the way to the head of the stretch. Turning into the straightaway, Agrarian-U was able to shake off Imperial Rock, who gave way as if in need of a race, and under pressure through the stretch, stalled off bold bids on the part of Crystal Boot, who came on the rail, and Gobbler, who was forced a bit wide in the final stages by the winner. Agrarian-U was installed a lukewarm favorite by tfie crowd of 9,630 who turned out under leaden skies, paying .40 straight. Crystal Boot, somewhat of a surprise, paid 3.80 to place and 4.20 to show. The winners time for the six furlongs was 1:12 flat. " * J
