Ward Favors Turf Writing DETROIT, Mich., June 13. — Charles P. Ward, turf editor for. the Detroit Times, took a day off from his track duties yesterday and went fishing in the St. Clair River. Ward failed to get a strike but fell in 18 feet of water, losing a costly reel and several other pieces of fishing equipment. Back on the job today at the local press box, Ward has sworn off on any further Isaac Walton ventures.
