UNDER ORDERS saved ground while outrun early, went between horses when gaining best stride, disposed of the leaders and drew clear. REVENGER was foiced to race wide on the turn while moving up, took the lead when LE FIGARO quit, but was not good enough. LILB0N was a sharp factor from the break, faltered Wn the drive, but lasted for a dead-heat forythirdwith FRIVOLITY. The latter was well placed throughout and had no excuse. BUSAGI eased back between horses entering the turn. ANSWER MAN tired. LE FIGARO had good speed for a half mile and quit. YOR OPTICIAN was hustled along en the outside to reach a contending position, was forced wide through the drive when REDINGOTE bore out and*got up in the late stages. The latter stumbled at the start, established a clear lead, then began to bear out and just failed. MILTON BERLE was in a trifle close while duelling for command and turned in a good effort. BAND LEADER went into command shortly after the start, was headed between calls after the tenth obstacle, regained the lead nearing the twelfth jump and won easily. SON DESPRIT went into command between calls after the tenth jump, landed badly at the eleventh and was soon headed, then also made a bad landing at the final obstacle. BETTER VAIN made up ground when called upon, bobbled at the final jump and finished willingly. REPOSE, far back while jumping . unsteadily early, closed very strongly.
