EXCHEQUER outbroke his field, was steadied when headed on the turn, came again on the rail in the stretcn and lasted over STAR BILLING. The latter broke tardily, was forced to race wide improving position and finished stoutly. UNATTACHED dueled for the lead until the stretch and faltered. BRAVE BIM was a sharp factor from the start and had no excuse. WAR-ASTER weakened in the drive. CYKIE was outrun. FLAUNT broke poorly. JACK FIZZ had brief speed and tired. STAR-ENFIN, permitted to race a trifle wide to be in the better footing, went up to be on nearly equal terms leaving the turn, shook off CIGAR MAID just inside the sixteenth post and drew away. GODDESS was well placed on the rail, was hard held midway of the turn when bearing out, ran out leaving the turn and closed with good courage. ISOGRADE was carried out by GODDESS and wore down CIGAR MAID for the show. The latter established a comfortable lead on the backstretch while racing in the deeper footing on the rail, held on stubbornly until the sixteenth post and gave way suddenly. ROYAL FREEDOM, a sharp factor on the outside, took command midway of the stretch and outgamed HITHERTO. The latter, on the rail while prominent, swung wide leaving the final turn, threatened boldly in the stretch and faltered. POMOLA gained a clear lead before a quarter mile and tired in the drive.
