Stars and Stripes Lures 30 Nominees Brookmeade, Hasty House And Cherry-Oca Each Name Trio for July 4 Headliner ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 27.— The 0,000 added Stars and Stripes Handicap, most valuable race to be contested on a turf course in the history of American racing, has lured a band of 30 nominations, racing secretary and handi-capper Frank E. "Jimmy" Kilroe announced today. A trio of owners each have three horses for the mile and one-furlong test, scheduled on Wednesday, July 4. They are the Brookmeade Stable, with Blue Hills, Dart By and Picator; Cherry-Oca Stables Cuore. First Nighter and Limasol, and Hasty House Farm, with Inseparable, Seaward and Swap Out. Miche on Roster In addition to the above, other well known performers named are Miche, the gray ghost from the West Coast; Kosadus. winner of the recent Lincoln Handicap at Washington Park; Solero, famed- Italian champion who has never started in this country; Curandero, victor in the Equipoise Mile; Volcanic, regarded generally as the greatest turf course competitor in recent years in the Middle West, and Royal Governor, a freqeunt stakes winner in the East. Presently Volcanic looms as the early favorite for the event, even though he has started only once this year. The big, handsome stallion has proven victorious in numerous grass classics in this area, and also has smashed American track records with reckless abandon.
