First Shipment of Horses Arrives at Arlington Park ParkMarcaddr Marcaddr Heads String of 17 in Allison Prestridge Stable StableAlRilNGTON AlRilNGTON HEIGHTS 111 May 9 The first shipment of horses checked in at Arlington Park liere this afternoon when trainer N R Yorky McLeod bedded down 17 members of the L R Allison and M R Prestridge string The unit came from Golden Gate Fields at Albany Calif and will begin training for the 36day meeting which opens at this track on June 16 16The The Allison Prestridge horses will do their galloping over the training track here which track superintendent Clarence Brink man now has ready for use useHeading Heading the McLeod trained stable is the threeyearold Marcador a colt by Bold Venture Maravilla fay Sun Briar wlipm the partners purchased recently from King Ranch Marcador won the Oakland Handi ¬ cap under the King Ranch banner and then was acquired by his new owners Marcador proceeded to make good in a big way for his new barn by winning the 25000 added Golden Gate Derby He ran the nine fur ¬ longs in 148 in registering by a half length in that stake stakeDark Dark Count who won the San Luis Rey Stakes at Santa Anita also is one of the big guns in the Allison Prestridge unit Also included in the shipment are fpur highpriced yearlings purchased at last summers Keeneland sales These include Partners All who cost 28000 Ricachp a 26000 purchase Royal Grandeur 14000 and TripleCrown 8600 Trhbrig others making the long trip from California were Prince Abbey Market Level Bambpozler and Stoner Creek Marcador Dark Count and the twoyear olds as well as others in the stable are liberally staked both here at Arlington and also for the 31day Washington Park meet ¬ ing that will follow the close of the sport at this course
