HBPA Issues Statements Why Board Proposal Was Rejected RejectedSPORTSMANS SPORTSMANS PARK Cicero HI May 9 In an interview here today with Joseph G Kohout vicepresident of the central division of the HBPA Thomas Shehari editor of the Horsemens Journal and members of the executive committee the following statements were given when questioned as to why the horsemens or ¬ ganization refused to accept the Illinois Racing Board as an aribtrator in the pres ¬ ent dispute disputeThe The reason why myself and my com ¬ mittee refused to let the Illinois Horse Rac Jng Board act as arbitrators in this matter is because they ignored my pleas at the hearing to act as mediators in negotiations with the management of Sportsmans Park said vicepresident Joe Kohout of the central division of the HBPA HBPAIt It was the opinion of most of the horse ¬ men who sat in on the hearing said She that an examination of the transcript of ofthe the hearing will reveal the prejudicial atti attiI I tude of the board We also wonderedwhy Mr Peabody went off to Houston on his hisown own personal business when sp imch was wasat at stake here for everybody concerned
