Boudreau Says Hell Take Field if Team Needs Him BOSTON, Mass., June 9 UP . — Manager Lou Boudreau said today hell take the field with the Boston Red Sox "if the team needs me." "Oh no," he said, "I havent retired from playing. Im still going to be in there if the team needs me at any time. Ill be ready if an emergency requires me to get into the line-up." Boudreau said he had confidence that utility infielder Johnny Lipon, recently acquired from Detroit in "the big swap," could take over if for any reason shortstop Vern Stephens or third baseman George Kell had to leave the line-up. In addition he has rookies Jim Pearsall and Ted Lep-cio in reserve, though Piersall now is playing regularly in right field. "But Id be ready in three or four days, at the most, if I have to get into the lineup any time from now until the end of the season," Boudreau said.
