The handle of 2,781 on the days feature bettered the mark on any other feature other than the Gold Cup event which holds the record of 2,864. The A and H Stables Safe Arrival was returned the winner of the spotlight attraction, the Akron-Cleveland Purse here this afternoon.With jockey Stanley Austin the saddle, the Eight Thirty gelding covered the mile and one-sixteenth over a muddy strip in 1:50% to be one length better than the favored Oreo, the recent 0,000 purchase of the Dorchester Farm.
