Reduce Distance of Races PAWTUCKET, R. I., June 26.— At the request of the HBP A committee and to accommodate owners of numerous two-year-olds that are backward in their training owing to the coughing epidemic early in the spring, racing secretary Ty Shea this morning agreed to reduce the distance of several two-year-old races in the Narra-gansett Park book from five and a half furlongs to five. This arrangement will apply only to the first condition book which covers the first 12 days of the meeting.
