Ward Top ThisrleDown Rider; Alfonso Coy on First Winner THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 16. Jockey Paul A. Ward having won 10 races is still the leading rider thus far, but jockeys Donal Bowcut and Willie Cars-tens are slowly closing in. Carstens has ridden eight victories and Bowcut has visited the winners circle seven times. At present the leading apprentice rider here is Al Whiting, who is under contract to Benny Creech. Whiting has ridden four winners. Apprentice W. Blum has ridden eight winners here, but has left for Monmouth Park. Another apprentice, Alfonso Coy, won his first race of the meeting on Monday after recovering from a broken leg that he sustaintd last winter while in thfr South. Coy, a natural lightweight, accepted his first mounts on Monday and rides contract for trainer Frank E. Fitzgerald v
