No Repercussions Expected From New Publicity Stunt DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 19. — No serious repercussions have been heard yet after bunches of roses were sent to wives of newsmen and radio men this week as a reminder of the Rose Leaves stakes to be run Saturday. Publicity director Paul Chandler enclosed a card with the flowers: "Better get out to see the Rose Leaves at the Detroit Race Course Saturday cause Ill be making a play for your husband if hell let me." The card was signed: "Sun Tan Gal." Maybe the wives know Sun Tan Gal is one of the better-regarded starters in the stake. * - - i + . ., i ■... i i fc.K ivjec L rl .o y rxoi-fict atil k: of
