Averaging Winner Per Day RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 6. — Jockey Howard Craig, one of Ohios native sons, is setting the pace in the sizzling race for leading riding honors at this course for the first eight days of the current session with eight winners, an average of one winner per day. Gilbert Roser, another native of the Buckeye State, is in close pursuit haying graced the charmed circle on six occasions. Jockeys Jerry West, Jack Kurtz, Owen Headley and apprentice John E. Carroll are in a four-way deadlock for third place, being credited with five apiece to date.
