W. Shapoff; bred by L. Combs II. IN GATE— 3:48. OFF AT 3:48 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. .Start good for all but SIGS ACORN. Won driving; second and third the same. SHARP FLIGHT, well placed from the start, took command before entering the stretch, gave way to BONANZA MISS during the drive, then came again and wore down the latter in the last sixteenth. BONANZA MISS, never far back, went to the front during the stretch run -and held on fairly well but could not withstand the top one. WISE PENNY raced evenly to the stretch and failed to rally when hard ridden during the drive. DUMPLIN CREEK had no excuse. CINDYAM was never dangerous. SIGS ACORN, rank in the post parade, began poorly and lost all chance. GRAND PARIS raced greenly. MISS HAZEL showed nothing. RAYS CONNIE was never prominent. TRIM MOUD raced far back throughout. VICKEYS IMAGE, away sluggishly and hustled to reach serious contention, was racing forv/ardly placed near the furlong pole when he shied and struck the inner rail, then fell heavily into the infield. HARVEST TIME, away fast and never far back, was forced wide entering the stretch, responded willingly when straightened for the drive and disposed of FAN FLIGHT in the last sixteenth. The latter raced evenly within striking distance of the leaders for a half mile, saved ground at the stretch turn and reached the lead during the drive but was unable to hold the top one, although easily best of the others. .HI BOB gave a good performance and had no excuse. RIDGIE lacked early foot. and raced wide-4hrough the stetch. PATS VALENTINE failed to stay after showing early speed. SMART EVE was never dangerous. WILLOW JADE raced with MELODY AIR to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. COLLECT showed nothing. MELODY AIR took an early lead, made the pace to the stretch, .then quit. WOLFDOG, alertly handled, took command when ready, • entered the stretch with a good lefod and won with something left. DIAMOND LADDIE gradually worked way forward to the stretch, was unable to threaten the winner, but lasted to hold BUY BOOKIE safe. The latter bore to the outside entering the stretch, remained in the middle of the track for the drive and closed resolutely under urging. MONROE COUNTY could not keep up. GALLA VIXEN was never dangerous. XENOS FIRST had early speed, but failed to stay. WANT-A-BIT went to the front early, set the pace, to the stretch, then gave way when challenged by WOLFDOG. MARK KLAINE, forwardly placed from the start, raced EXOTIC GIRL into defeat before entering the stretch, then responded to urging and won going away. JUST BARBARA, never far back, drifted to the middle of the track for the drive, closed willingly but could not seriously threaten the top one. COURTESSY BOY bore out entering the stretch and was unable to get to the top pair when straightened for the drive. MISS MELODY failed to rally when set down through the stretch. SU-JAY raced well to the stretch but could not threaten the leaders after caught in close quarters during the drive. EXOTIC GIRL tired after racing well to the stretch. TEDS BULL raced wide. A GEM was never dangerous. MERRY SWEEPER showed nothing. MARYS FRANK raced far back the entire trip. HERBS GAL was through early. Scratched— 502381 Dick Junior, 122; 49953 First Star, 114. FIXED CHARGE, a sharp factor from the start, raced MISS KIRK into defeat entering the stretch, then continued gamely under brisk urging to withstand CARE BATTLE. The latter, never far back, was sent to the outside for the stretch run, raced to FIXED CHARGE during the drive, then hung and could not overtake the winner, although, easily best of teh others. BLACK BOY lacked early foot but finished strongly when sent between horses during the drive. COLORADO FOX began sluggishly, moved up boldly approaching the stretch but failed to better his position when set down in the drive. MISS KIRK took command at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way when challenged by FIXED CHARGE. NEWTON AIRDS had no excuse. BRIEF BRAND could not keep up.
