Polion With Barry Since 53 MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 25. Johnny Polion, who won Friday with Mrs. T. J. Barrys Rich and Rare, was scoring the first victory of a riding career which has now embraced 11 races. The 18-year-old native of Pawtucket, R. I., has been with trainer T. J. Barry since 1953 when he was introduced by Leo McAloon, a steward at Narragansett Park. Polion had contacted McAloon seeking race track employment after his dentist suggested a riding career. Polion rode his first race last fall and had been on a few horses earlier this season at Garden State Park and at Monmouth Park. Rich and Rare, a daughter of Beau Gem Ginargie, may have earned a place in next Saturdays Colleen field by her victory. It was her first start and she ran five furlongs in 59.
