. . i Card Five Stakes At Lincoln Downs Renewal of 0,000 Added Rhode Island Special Main Attraction of 24-Day Meet LINCOLN, R. I., June 27. The 0,000 added Rhode Island Special, mile and a quarter feature which last year found A. G. Vanderbilts Social Outcast and Crash Dive finishing one-two, will have its second running Wednesday, August 31, highlighting the stakes schedule at Lincoln Downs 24-day summer meeting. The session opens August r and continues through September 3. The Special, for three-year-olds and upward, heads five stakes at the second summer meet in the nine-year history of this popular New England course. The remaining four stakes are for 0,000 one of these is an added money event and all are scheduled to bec contested on successive Saturdays. The West Springfield Handicap, for three-year-olds and up, is the first of the stakes, being at one mile and a sixteenth on August 13 with nominations closing Wednesday, August 10. This will be followed by the 0,000 added Old Colony Juvenile Stakes, exclusively for two-year-olds, on August 20. Nominations for this seven furlongs added money test close on Friday, August 5. Card New London August 27 The New London Handicap, seven furlong event for three-year-olds and upward is scheduled August 27. The New London deadline for nominations is August 24-. Following the Special comes the closing handicap of the four-week session, the Connecticut Day, also for three -year-olds and upward, at one mile and a sixteenth, September 3.
