CLEAR DAWN, steadied while within easy striking distance of the leaders, responded well from the quarter pole and drew clear under intermittent pressure OPEN SESAME improved her position with a bold rush on the outside around the final turn, then lacked the needed late response. CERISE REINE attained command and drew clear on the final turn, then gave way under a drive. ANOTHER WORLD loomed a threat in the early stretch and lacked further response. LAVENDER HILL made up considerable ground while moving from far back. GAINSBORO GIRL set and pressed the pace during much of the race, weakened in the drive and worked out a short distance. CRISSET, in front early, -weakened. BLUE VIOLIN raced for command early, quit badly and was not punished when apparently in distress late.
