PHILGLAN made a quick move to lead leaving the far turn, drew clear into the stretch and, under pressure, withstood CONSTANT REBEL. The latter rallied willingly into the stretch and, after reaching close contention, lacked a late rally. FLYING SPUR attempted to move with the winner and then flattened out in the final run. RIPOPIC made up ground in the late stages. ZED was done early. IN LIEU opened a up a comfortable Head while racing slightly wide and tired in the final quarter mile. AVIETTE, wtihin striking distance early, could not menace the winner while best of the others. ANOTHER MOON came from far back with a mild late rally. WAR SECRETARY was weakening in the late yards.
