Veto Board Secretary Increase SPRINGFIELD, 111., June 5. Gov. William G. Stratton today vetoed a bill to increase the salary of the secretary of the Illinois Racing Board from ,500 to 0,-000 a year. In vetoing the measure, the Governor said the pay increase was "not in conformity" with pay scales recommended by the new department of personnel.
