SOME NEW ORLEANS MISCHIEF MISCHIEFThe Mischief The New Orleans story about Gov Go Matthews being intent on enforcing the Indiana law is a healthy story Thats Hats the duty of the governor of a state Gov Go Matthews is also quoted via New Orleans as declaring projected racing at Lakeside Forsyth Forsythia and Sheffield to be illegal Thats Hats different Gov Go Matthews and the Sel Seal ¬ lers leers law can hardly be on bad terms Both are legal items of the commonwealth of Indiana The geographical source of the news drift of racing politics and a local angle or so would in ¬ dicate dilate that a long range bureau of mischief is at work to injure the Indiana tracks It natur nature ¬ ally goes at the newspapers for its purpose purposeThe purpose The Lakeside officials took the proper action against the socalled scaled news They wired their agents to send them lists of stables intending to come to Chicago So many horses have been refused quarters and so many more want them that New Orleans owners who are in doubt can well be overlooked overlookedThe overlooked The illegal plea against the Indiana tracks has not one trace of reason or common sense Its mischief is obvious and its manipulators can be named when the time comes
