ELUSIVE WINS ANOTHER RACE The card at Sheffield yesterday was an attrac attract ¬ tive tie one and that and the warm weather brought out a large crowd The track was fast The principal events were a mile and a quarter race a five and a half furlongs event in which some speedy ones were entered and a handicap steeplechase the first which has ever been run at the Indiana tracks tracksThe tracks The steeplechase course which has been laid out in the inner field is fairly calculated to test a horses jumping powers The principal ob ¬ stacles stales are a water jump a bank a post and rails and a double all well in sight of the grand stand the minor jumps being on the far end The finish is on the regular track There were seven starters and Miles Standish was favorite Cunarder Unordered led over the water jump passing the stand and cleared the bank in advance Then My Liuck Luck took the lead and showed the way over the post and rails and the double which all took in good style with Hercules second In the turn for the second half Hercules went the wrong side of a flag but kept on My Luck kept in front winning by eight lengths with Hercules second a length and a half in front of Cunarder Unordered who was ten before Miles Standish Herdules Hercules was disqualified for going out of the course courseElusive comprehensive Elusive was the favorite for the mile and a quarter with Marcel well backed Ashland made the running for the first half with Elusive second At the threequarters treasurers Sullross Soulless Ash ¬ land and Elusive were heads apart but before the mile Dorsey Dose sent Elusive out and she soon led by three lengths with Marcel and Sullross Soulless racing together The filly kept in front the rest of the journey Dorsey Dose easing her up and win ¬ ning Ming by half a length from Sullross Soulless with Marcel a Ipoor Poor third The time 2 07 beat the State record a quarter of a second secondIn seconding In the five and a half furlongs Rubberneck made the running into the stretch At the eighth pole Hi Henry swerved and caused Rub ¬ berneck Berne to interfere with May Fern Lollie Lillie Eastin Easton however had the race in hand and won handily by a length in State record time timeOnalaska timetables Onalaska Koalas whose first appearance it was since the Indiana Derby well ridden by Sullivan cap ¬ tured toured the opening event by a neck from Star beam with Gnnwad Ginned third thirdBrown third Brown Eyes the favorite had no difficulty in winning the maiden 2yearold race his most dangerous opponent Michael Mclnerney Clearance get ¬ ting off badly badlyMerry adultery Merry Monarch won the last race handily from Revenue with Springtime a good third thirdW third W M Rogers of the Elkton Elton Stock Farm Stable has arrived at Sheffield with nine 2year olds and four other horses Dan Lamasroy Lamasery with Tola Olla Second Attempt and others and Mr Cody with Romance has also reached the Indiana tracks tracksJockey tracks Jockey W Ham reached here yesterday and will ride at Sheffield
