KINGS COUNSELS SEVENTH It was a raw chilly afternoon yesterday and a small crowd of regulars only went to Ingalls Finals Park The English colt Kings Counsel won the afternoons star piece a six and onehalf Neal fur ¬ longs allowance race beating the Foster Bros Brows derby colt Dr Sheppard The latter ran a grand race and the winner clipped a quarter of a second off the Illinois state record If Kings Counsels legs were as good as his general ap ¬ pearance parlance he would be a prize As it is the colt has started eight times this year and won seven races He was a high priced yearling bought cheap at the Smith sale at Milwaukee in 1896 1896The The performance of Fosters Dorian in the mile race was a shocking one Dorian on paper looked to have an excellent chance to win and in the opening betting was installed favorite at 8 to 5 but before post time 4 to 1 could be had about him In the race Dorian was as dull as the market about him and finished a distant fifth Babe Murphy backed from 2 to 1 to 7 to E won the race rather handily from Doctor G GOld Old Floreanna Foramina after a much needed rest made her appearance in the first race and get ¬ ting off well went right on to the front winning quite handily from the favorite Percy Flore Flores ¬ anna was at some stages of the betting as good as 40 to 1 1Presbyterian Presbyterian from W M Singerlys Gingerly stable won the twoyearold toehold race and Siegfried Sigrid per ¬ fectly featly ridden by Bloss Loss scored in the final event eventTnlly eventfully Tnlly Tonally Coulter and B J Johnston were at the track Both ship their horses here today todaySome toadstone Some fiendish person broke into Ruddy Bros Brows stable Thursday night and cut the tails off all the twoyearolds toeholds
