IMPS SPARKLING RACE Lakesides going had a dangerous aspect yes ¬ terday tray arid scratches were numerous The fourth race was almost ruined Out of it though came a sensational performance Imp running seven furlongs over the lumpy course in 1 26J The flashy black filly was at her best She stepped the quarter in 24 seconds the half in 48 and the five furlongs in 1 01 This sparkling speed made Laureate leg weary and at the end he swerved all over the track Imp won pulled up upWalter upholster Walter Gum lost his good El Rio Rey Frey Atelia Amelia mare Mandolina Mandolin after she had won the last race She was entered for 200 run up to 600 by C T Hcnshall and bought by him The mare was a 4 to 5 chance and won off by her ¬ self
