A NEW JOCKEY v Little Jimmy Michael the famous bicycle rider has really determined to be a jockey if he can and has gone to Phil Dwyers Dyers stable at Gravesend Graves to see what he can do as an exercise lad Of this new venture Dwyer says Michael will not give up cycle racing at any rate for the present for he realizes fully that this is only an experiment If however he does graduate as a jockey he will probably be able to reduce his weight still further when he is not obliged to eat so much nutritious food in order to keep up his strength for long distance cycle racing He says himself that ho thinks he will be able to ride at 95 pounds saddle clothes and all The strength that will be re ¬ quired quirked for riding horses in comparatively short races will not need nearly the same nutrition nutritionNo nutrition No papers are signed nor will there be for the present Michael will try the life and see how it suits him He is to go to my stable at Gravesend Graves tomorrow morning and will take up his quarters there If he gets along all right I will give him every possible chance and the op ¬ portunity fortuity to show what he can do on the best horses in my stable
