SCHORRS CHIRRS HORSES AND PLANS PLANSMr Plans Mr J W Schorr Scorer was in St Louis last week and talked this way to a Republic reporter about his horses I bought W W Dardens Deadens half interest in Algol last fall and now own the horse out ¬ right said Mr Schorr Scorer yesterday He is one of the speediest horses in this country and ought to give a good account of himself this season St Louisans Louisa will remember him as the crack twoyearold toehold of 1896 when he beat Typhoon II Ornament Buckvidere Duckier Moncreith Noncredit and the rest of the crack youngsters of that season He was off the greater part of last season and never had a chance to show his real form as a threeyearold Macy Marcy should make a good horse in he east and Presbyterian is a threeyearold of exceptionally great promise Sligo Lingo II is a sprinter of the first class He and Presbyterian earned most of the 9000 credited to my stable at New Orleans this winter winterPresbyterian interprets Presbyterian of Lieber Libber Karl will carry my colors in the Crescent City Derby this month I won this stake last year with Meadowthorpe Meadow Lieber Libber Karl will probably represent my stable in the Tennessee Kentucky and St Louis derbies I named this colt in honor of Otto F Stifels Stifles little son Mr Stifel Stifle you know used to be my partner on the turf Lieber Libber Karl has spread out and developed into a massive big racing tool He gets going quick and can run as far as you want him to With Hamburg out of the way ho will be a hard horse to beat in the western Derbys Derby Presbyterian Ms npt pt an impressive looking horse but he certainly a first class performer as his unsurpassed recbrd record as a 2yearold demonstrated conclusively In addition to this pair I have another good 3yearold in Wilson a stake winner at New Orleans this winter Fred Broens Barons and The Druggist a brother to The Chemist will also be heard from before the season has advanced very far farI Farsi I have eight horses in my stable any one of which can run a mile in the neighborhood of 1 40 They are Meadowthorpe Meadow Macy Marcy Algol Timemaker Tidemark Presbyterian Lieber Libber Karl Ber Beer clair and Sligo Lingo II Meadowthorpe Meadow is being pre ¬ pared for the St Louis Inaugural Hes Hess the big Kantaka Kanaka colt that I paid 4000 for at Eugene Leighs Sleighs sale in this city two years ago Leigh sold Meadowthorpe Meadow and kept Arrezzo Carrizo thinking the latter would make the best horse It turned out just the other way Arrezzo Carrizo proving to be a rank counterfeit I won the St Louis Inaugu Inaugural ¬ ral Ural last spring with Macy Marcy and would like to attach it again this season Tommy Burns will surely bo here to ride Meadowthorpo Meadow the day the Fair Grounds open I like St Louis and would much rather race hero than over the Chi ¬ cago cargo tracks George Walker will remain with the western division of my stable stableI stable I have a big division of twoyearolds toeholds con ¬ sisting sitting of fifteen head None of them have shown much yet I dont don't think there is a sen seen ¬ sational national youngster in the bunch although nearly all of them ought to make good bread ¬ winners The highest priced one in the lot a colt that cost 2800 went lame a month ago but it was only a temporary afilictibn affiliating and the youngster is now rounding to rapidly Mont ¬ gomery geometry Park at Memphis is the finest training grounds on the western circuit Nearly all the prominent turfmen Turkmen of the west have wintered there The Cahns Cans of St Lonis Lois have a number of promising twoyearolds toeholds Senator J S OBrien O'Brien also has a number of good youngsters His bay colt by Leonatus Lents Lady of the Lake is especially promising This colt is a full brother to Leo Lake Ornament is looking well The prospects for the Memphis meeting could not be any brighter
